Piano accompanist

If your child or you plan to start learning a melodic instrument such as a violin, cello, flute, saxophone or clarinet, it is important to know that from the beginning of the education, you will have one more teacher in addition to the head teacher – your piano accompanist.

As we wrote in one of our previous texts: Piano lessons at the First International Music School “Eva”the structure of music consists of the main musical flow, which in most cases is a melody and – its accompaniment.

Since a melodic instrument mostly performs only a melody, in order for the music to be complete, a harmonic instrument is also needed – in this case it is a piano.

Who is the piano accompanist?

The piano accompanist is a classically trained pianist with additional experience in chamber music.

Chamber music is music for smaller ensembles, which usually have between two and nine members. When musicians play together, in addition to learning and listening to their musical text, they must also develop the ability to listen to others and create music together with them.

This skill is not acquired overnight, but it takes a lot of joint rehearsals and performances to develop it.

Why is an piano accompanist important in pedagogy?

The piano accompanist is important in pedagogy because he gives direct support to the student, both in classes and in performances and exams, which are the biggest challenge for students. Students feel much more comfortable at performances when they know that they are not alone, but share the stage with their piano accompaniest.

If a musical accident happens on the stage, and the student skips a few bars or can’t remember how to continue, with good piano support, many mistakes can go unnoticed.

In addition to playing with students, as an experienced musician and pedagogue, the accompanist, in cooperation with the professor of the instrument, also participates in creating the musical concept of the work being performed and is often of great use in that field.

Many acclaimed musicians will testify that their performances would not have been equally successful without great pianists as support.

Do the students of the First International Private Music School “Eva” have a piano accompaniest?

In addition to instrument lessons with our teachers, our students also have regular piano rehearsals. Our accompanists, as experienced pedagogues and great musicians, are also part of the support team for our students.

Conclusion

Piano accompaniest, despite not being in the first plan, are an inseparable part of the pedagogical process. With a highly developed musical empathy and intelligence, they can intuitively feel the core of the problem and very easily translate it into valuable advice.

In order for the music to be complete, a harmonic instrument is also needed – in this case it is a piano.

If you want to be a part of our school and attend violin, cello, clarinet, saxophone or flute classes – in addition to great subject teachers who will successfully pass on their knowledge, you or your children will always be accompanied by our accompaniest as pedagogical support for learning and enjoyment in music.
