Maja Djokic was born in Sarajevo, where she graduated the Music High School. She finished opera singing in Belgrade, in the class of Prof Aleksandra Ivanovic.
During her rich twenty-year career her students had extremely many concerts as well as many prizes at the domestic and the international competitions. Many of Maja’ students have a successful concert and theatre career in the country and abroad.
Prof. Djokic was the art manager of the choir “Vocal teen” from Pancevo. This choir was a guest at the “Exit” music festival in Novi Sad.
After only a few months the choir scored a great result by winning the Grand Prix at the international competition in Mrkonjic city. After this noticeable award, the choir received an invitation to participate in the music-stage speculator “I can do Anything” that was aired on the RTS first channel.
Through 13 shows Maja collaborated and performed with young musicians, with whom she was the educator of the “Joung Singers”. Their successful performances were placed in the finals of this show.
In the course of 2016. year, successful cooperation with the foundation “Children of children” and the children’s Philharmonic in the project “May, month for music”, aimed at promoting music education with the youngest, supported by the foundation “Novak Djokovic”.
Cooperation continued during the year 2017, on the occasion of the concert of the regional Children’s Philharmonic Orchestra in Sarajevo. As a longtime member of the academic choir “Jovan Bandur” from Pancevo, Prof. Djokic regularly performs at many concerts of this ensemble as a soloist.
