Emilija Petković, Piano teacher

Emilija Petkovic was born in Gornji Milanovac. She is classically trained pianist and piano teacher.

She began learning piano at “Dr Vojislav Vuckovic” Music School in Cacak with prof. Natalija Radovanovic and prof. Magdalena Popovic. Later on, she moved to Belgrade in order to continue her piano education with prof. Zlata Males at “Kosta Manojlovic” Music School in Zemun. In 2010, she enrolled Faculty of Music in Belgrade (Piano Department) and became a student of prof. Ninoslav Zivkovic. There, she completed both Bachelor and Master degree, plus one year of Specialist Studies in Piano Performance.

During the education, she won more than 20 prizes. As soloist and chamber musician, she performed in various concert halls: Kolarac Hall, Kolarac Gallery, Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, Artget Gallery, Students’ Centre of Culture, Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, Children’s Centre of Culture in Belgrade and also attended masterclasses with: Aleksandar Madzar, Lidija Bizjak and Simon Adda-Reyss, Konstantin Bogino, Igor Lazko, Siavush Gadjiev, Ninoslav Zivkovic, Marija Djukic, Sonja Loncar and Andrija Pavlovic ( LP Duo ), Michael Uhde, Michel Dalberto, Jasques Rouvier.

Since 2014 she has been active as piano pedagogue, working with students of different age. In addition to piano teaching, she is also experienced in teaching piano duo and sight-reading.  As piano pedagogue, she strives to encourage creativity, commitment and independence among the students. However, she finds herself constantly learning and growing while communicating with students and getting feedback from them.

Emilija frequently performs at concerts for children organized by Artysh:lab. From 2021 she is piano teacher at International “Eva Music” school Dedinje, Belgrade.
